A fariy tale

I love my family, but this was funny:

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?' The girl said:ยข NO!' And the girl lived happily ever-after and went shopping, dancing, camping, drank martinis, always had a clean house, never had to cook, did whatever the hell she wanted, never argued, didn't get fat, traveled more, had many lovers, didn't save money, and had all the hot water to herself. She went to the theater, never watched sports, never wore friggin' lacy lingerie that went up her ass, had high self-esteem, never cried or yelled, felt and looked fabulous in sweat pants and was pleasant all the time.

An old pic

These are not our calves. We don't have cattle. M would like cattle, but chickens and pigs are too much for me. Cows are STRONG! Even baby cows!

I have respect for people that handle cattle. They smell your fear so you can't show it around them. That's the part I'm not so good at. I'm a girl from Detroit. Born and raised there! Beef was something you bought from the supermarket. Not around here. Our freezer is full of one of the cows we used to drive by down the "road"...note not "street". Streets are in the city...not in the country.

I was going through old pictures and liked this one. They're so cute! But STRONG!

Happy Valentines day

My husband is continually bugging me to take pictures around the house. Yesterday, inspired by thepioneerwoman.com; he finally took the camera out and shot a ton of pics.
This one was my favorite. There are so many trees around our house it's hard to get a good one. I like the angle. I only adjusted in ps with the auto functions and sharpened.

Happy Valentine's Day...sick kid here...again! Poor kid...first grader...upset about not going to school because she's missing her Valentine's party!

I'm a statistic

I finally got my patottie to the doctor...urgent care that is...and after a wonderful nasal swab, found I out I have influenza A...the not so bad type influenza. Bad thing is that because I've had this low grade fever junk for 4 days, the tamiflu won't help me. I'll just have to ride it out. I'm wondering if the $100 plus I've spent on antibiotics for the kids wasn't just a waste!? (didn't help the younger two at all!)...

More info is better than less tho as if dh gets this, he can get the tamiflu pronto.

ANd gotta watch the 6 yr old for pneumonia. She's still got that loose cough...but no fever thankfully. Just knock wood that it goes away quickly!

and i do not like this not one little bit

15 yr old is still sick! Still lots of coughing and hacking around here. Possibly rsv for the big kids? What on earth do you do for that? Just ride it out?
grrr..getting tired of this!

sick sick sick

All three of the kidlets had bronchitis. Go figure. 3 days off school for #2 and 3 and 2 days off school for #1. Cabin fever is setting in big time. Snow day today so no school again..just a trip to the drs so he could tell me they're all on "the tail end of this thing". #3 had "pre-pneumonia. Freaked me out completely and she's still coughing BAD...but no fever left.

Can you say cranky in the house? and the 15 yr old kept timing how long we had to wait for the dr on her ipod. Yeah...it was a long time...but the guy is nice and somewhat logical. Hard to find around here. The 15 yr old was po'ed that she didn't get an antibiotic. (she's on the tail end of it, eh?)
