I made a basket today! It's small and really is symmetrical; the camera angle is funny & the handle really is on correctly. I'm on a ubunti system right now & don't know how to edit with gimp very well...

Untraditional Thanksgiving

This year I will not buy a turkey. Our freezer is so full...of meat hen chickens, of a ham from our pig last, last summer, of the 2 deer that my son & husband shot this hunting season, of various fish from the summer, of stuff I've purchased from the grocery store on sale. We have a bunch of Pekin ducks behind the barn. They're cute, but they eat lots of feed that we don't really need to buy. So we'll have either duck or that ham from so long ago. The ham from our pig was YUMMY.

Someone tore my flag down!

And after my alma mater's current perfomance...I've left it down. I wrote on facebook that we need a "GET RID OF RICH ROD" button so I can click it!

My friends say this is another building year for michigan football...but I'm getting tired of saying that! That was the first Purdue win at the Big House since 1966.

Oh well...doesn't look like there will be any bowl games this year. That'll piss the regents off & maybe they'll finally find another coach!

completed sweater!

This is a late graduation gift for my nephew who is at Michigan Tech. Since it gets a bit cold up there I figured he could use a sweater. It went together fairly quickly. I hope he likes it!

WHEW! They Won!

I have to admit I was almost afraid to watch the Michigan-vs Western game yesterday! After last season...building year...I was very AFRAID! But they did well...despite the allegations over too much off season practice time. The announcers pointed to disgruntled players. Perhaps. It's hard to like Rich Rodriguez...he's got some tough shoes to fill. But people will like him if he repeats what the Wolverines did yesterday!

Another football season off to a GREAT START! Whew!

stinkin' cardinal

there's a lady cardinal that has been flying into my windows (plural) all week. I'm thinking she ate something bad from the farm fields around here? Makes me jump every time she SLAMS into the window! Country life...gotta love it.

when is it ever the right time

Lots of stuff is going wrong with this old house. I hit a deer when I took the kids to Michigan on their spring break. That was a $500 comprehensive deductible. My husband's company is possibly going into bankruptcy & the forecast is to cut lots more jobs. We moved to this new/old house almost 4 years ago & have put so much into it! Everything seems to be on hold now though.

My sister-in-law's mom got alzhiemer's right after she retired. All the trips they were planning disappeared as her dad had to take care of her mom. My sister-in-law's mantra is to live for today as you never know what will happen tomorrow. Oh they're conservative and in good shape an all...but she doesn't "wait" til it's the right time for EVERYONE...(she just got back from florida with her daughter for their spring break).

I want a new camera but that's definitely on hold ... The new hot water heater to replace the one here that was installed in 1980...now that's a different story. That will happen soon as there's a puddle on my basement floor (luckily it's concrete and is draining..but it won't last forever!)
