ugh...nothing fun got done~

Weekend home w/o the hubby. Major cleaning reorganizing got done...not fun. And not enough of the major reorganizing to really show. But it's a step...in the right direction. Couple things completed that I'd been really putting off. Se la vie.

Knitting

So 15 yr old dd told me about this knitting ring.

What am I knitting. The question should be what am I not knitting? I have 2 sweaters going for myself and one for the 6 yr old dd. I and 15 yr old dd made a mini christmas stocking yesterday. Sometimes you need those little projects to get the sense of accomplishment to complete the big ones.

The sweater I was working on last night is one that I had ripped out previously...I made the entire sweater, but didn't like how it fit so I ripped it out! Serously. (how stupid is that not to pay attention as you're knitting?)

The two for me are a ribbon sweater that I've lost interest int...a kind of fall leaves ribbon yarn cardigan that I told 15 yr old she could take over and keep. I've also got the one going for 6 yr old dd...an offwhite pullover that shouldn't take that long to complete. I need to get pictures!

I'm so proud of 15 yr old dd as she completed a sweater at 15! Now she's making a pair of socks for the 6 yr old and plans to make socks for the entire family! (I told her to make a pair for herself next so she can enjoy them and before she burns out on making socks). She's so funny as she kept trying the first sock on the 6 yr old while she was sleeping to see how it fit! She's now almost done with sock #2.

girls weekend at home

M and N went up north for the weekend so it's just me and the girls at home. I think the good thing about the lakehouse is the "no computer". I waste so much time on this it's awful!

I need to get some stuff done around here though. I recently read about this site and want to really do it. I need to get ready for christmas instead of the normal super cleaning routine the week before.

I'll try to get some pictures taken soon. I was reading Becky Higgin's blog...just found it...and I think I was more motivated to take pictures for scrapbooking than I was just to "take pictures". Now I want to see if michael's has her new book and if I can get it for 40% off! (pathetic...like I don't have enough books?!!!)

Of course there those times...vacations and holidays...where you take tons of pictures...but in everyday life, it's hard to justify taking pictures of just things...and there are only so many pictures you need of your kids......

So perhaps today I will drive around and get some landscape shots of things I've had in mind for a while...and get a few other things done...not housework type stuff...stuff that's been hanging over my head somewhat...fun stuff I'm always putting off.......

On a fun note, we were going to go out to eat last night but m and I didn't feel like sitting and waiting for service. So we went to the grocery store and got tv dinners, microwave popcorn, ice cream, chips, and sugar grape soda! (all the things M#1 frowns upon!). Junk food weekend here we come. I spent less than I would have at a fine eatery and we were all happy!

Now to decide if I want to stay home or go to the city to shop? (that's a huge chunk of time with the travel time nowadays!)
It's pretty where we live though...can't complain about that!


And update...the 6 yr old got motivated to have me help her clean her room. She's in a "get rid of it" mode and I LOOOVE it when that happens! So I'm taking advantage of her generous spirit to downsize the junk in her room! Yeah...this won't last long as I get overwhelmed quickly when reorganizing kids stuff!

eeh...maybe it's not so bad

Things are always relative. Sometimes things just work out the way they're supposed to and that's the way they work.

Something that's a huge drama one day may seem trivial the next. So it happens.

Cameras...not a big deal. One day at a time.

This is the conclusion I've come to...that people around here...Indiana area...don't care for Michigan. Unbelievable! Oh well...there are a *few* Michigan fans around...but it was funny that Mels wore her Michigan sweatshirt to school the Monday after Michigan pounced Notre Dame and a couple of her friends wouldn't talk to her!

Oh well...the wolverines are still A-1 in my book.

black and white film

I got motivated to finally get that roll of agfa film thru my camera. I'm even going to mail it off today to get it processed!

I've loaded up some trix and will shoot that thru. Putting the old N80 in the car to keep for those inspiring views on the way to work.

The new cs3 is aggravating me. I'm not motivated to teach it to myself right now. I need some b/w inspiration. Plus I need to document some of the things around here before they disappear before my eyes. *(yes this has happened already)

Nuff said.

Chicago

Two of my little brothers and my sister went to Chicago this past july. Nothing like being prompt with the blog, eh? Spent a TON of money, but took a few pictures. I've been out of the picture taking mood. Excuses...don't have one of these, don't have one of those...I tried to post a pictures, but it was too large of a file. That's what motivated the title here!

Just got cs3 so now there's really no excuse. Have a new program to learn...yikes! So something new to motivate me.

The newest thing is figuring out how to save in 4 x 6 as a batch to get rid of those HUGE files from my camera so that I can upload them to get them printed! I've got a bunch of tutorials on it, but need to sit down when it's quite and there aren't a ton of other things I should be doing. Like this am, I'm supposed to be packing to go to the lake for the morning. And I have a few stops to make before I go to the lake...at Kohl's to exchange some shoes, at the wine store to get some chemicals to add to the wine we started last fall! Eek...

My 6 yr old wants pancakes for breakfast! (she's not packed either!) She wanted me to help her but I put that off as well. Packing is no excuse as I can now pack for a long weekend in about 5 minutes. It's not rocket science anymore. I just woke up feeling like poop today. NEED MORE COFFEE!!!
